In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
O evento ocorre no terceiro mês após o Êxodo (aproximadamente 1446 a.C.), ligando-se à futura celebração de Shavuot (Pentecostes), que comemora a entrega da Lei (cf. lv23:15-21; at2:1-4).
