For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Paulo usa a metáfora do 'tabernáculo' (tenda temporária) para contrastar o corpo físico com a realidade eterna. A 'casa não feita por mãos' refere-se ao corpo glorificado, tema também desenvolvido em 1 Coríntios 15 sobre a ressurreição.
